SolarWinds TFTP Server

SolarWinds TFTP Server 8.2

Simultaneously and reliably transfer multiple files at once

  • Simple design, simple to use
  • Security features

  • Tools not properly configured

Not bad

First of all, bear in mind that SolarWinds TFTP Server is not a common FTP server. TFTP server is actually a different protocol, although based on FTP, which is used mainly for uploads and downloads to hubs, switches, routers and other network devices.

This tool is simple both in design and usage. Its plain, almost austere interface goes straight to the point and wastes no resources in bells and whistles. But this doesn't mean a shortage in functions: the server includes IP security (which means it will only accept connections from a given IP range) and automatic shutdown.

On the downside, we couldn't make use of the many functions provided in the Tools menu, as the program was surprisingly not able to find our default browser.

SolarWinds TFTP Server is a multi-threaded TFTP server commonly used to upload and download executable images and configurations to routers, switches, hubs, XTerminals, etc. The TFTP Server form SolarWinds will run on any Microsoft Operating System including Windows 95, 98, NT, ME and even Windows XP.

While there are many TFTP servers available, SolarWinds TFTP Server is a free, easy-to-use solution that helps network engineers with projects ranging from single file transfers to large network auditing projects. Network engineers rely on SolarWinds TFTP Server to transfer files because it is:

  • Easy to Use
  • Windows Compatible
  • Able to Send/Receive Multiple Files Simultaneously
  • Free
